I have a part that is broken off i have pictures can u please help me identify and how to replace? I tried to putty it together as temporary fix it also had a green end cap which has now fallen off

That would be a canister purge solenoid assembly that has the broken fitting. The information for your vehicle did not post on my end but my guess is that it is a GM car. The part that you are holding that had the green cap fall off is a line assembly with a test port. You will need to clean the putty off and check the lock to make sure it is okay and that the internal o ring is still in there. I am sending a repair link for the same general type of part but on a Suzuki. It should give you some insight into what I am talking about.

Thank you!! I have been wracking my brain about this! My check engine light has come on due to this and i was told it may affect my gas mileage and i have definitely noticed it. I will repair this weekend. While ive got you- My brake pedal has been acting up as well. There are times when im sitting at a red light and my car will start moving while i have the brake pedal pressed when it starts moving.. i then have to press down more on the brake any idea what this could be?

Brakes are not my specialty but if the engine rpm’s are staying constant (steady idle speed) then the a likely problem would be an internal leak in the master cylinder. I would advise you to check to make sure there are no external brake fluid leaks and that the reservoir level is not low. You should also check the condition of the friction surfaces. Brakes are not something to mess around with. Depending on your repair background you may want to enlist a local shop to check that out.

My brake fluid level was very low thank you!

Don’t forget that brake fluid when somewhere. It either leaked out of the system or the brake pads/shoes are worn and all of the fluid is in the calipers/wheel cylinders.

i jus bought this car about 3months I dnt recall checking the fluid level to see if it was empty or not. I will definitely be looking further into it. This i my only vehicle we have in which i take my kids to school in n also me to work.
