ORIGINAL PROBLEM WAS.COLD AIR DRIVERS SIDE HOT AIR PASSENGERS SIDE. PASSENGER SIDE CONTROL ON DASH GOT NO RESPONSE..CHANGED ACTUATOR ON PASSENEGER SIDE NEXT TO GLOVE BOX..NOW WE HAVE COLD ON BOTH SIDES AND HOT ON BOTH SIDE WHEN PROMPTED.. PASSENGER SIDE AND BACK STILL DO NOT WORK INDEPENDENTLY OF THE DRIVERS SIDE. IN OTHER WORDS WHAT EVER THE DRIVERS SIDE IS SET TO SO IS THE PASSENGER AND REAR NO MATTER WHAT YOU SET THE CONTROLS TO.( AT LEAST ALL IS THE SAME TEMP)

I would start by performing a system recalibration. The process would be the same as the information in the following link except that you will need to remove the DIM fuse from the rear fuse box instead of the one listed. It must be removed for a full 60 seconds or the process will not begin.

HVAC Actuator Recalibration Procedure For GM Trucks and SUVs

DIM FUSE ?? DIMMER??
THE SYSTEM HAS ALREADY BEEN CALIBRATED TWICE..ONCE WITH REMOVING THE 2 HVAC FUSES (ONE OF WHICH IS THE POWER FUSE)AND ALSO WITH DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY..

DIM, Dash Integration Module in the rear fuse box.

The following is from GM Service information.  It is also imperative that the controls not be touched until after the ignition is cycled back off a second time for at least ten seconds but no more than thirty seconds. Turn the ignition back on and retry a/c functions.

Beyond that we will need to look at HVAC codes and data to determine what might be wrong.

Actuator Recalibration

Calibration Procedure with a Scan Tool

Use the following steps to perform the calibration update:

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, select Instrument Panel Module.
  4. Select Special Functions.
  5. Select Miscellaneous Test.
  6. Select Recalibrate all Motors.
  7. Select ON, wait 30 seconds.
  8. HVAC Door Calibrations will display Cal OK.

Calibration Procedure without a Scan Tool

    1. Turn OFF the ignition.
    2. Remove the battery positive voltage circuit fuse of the Instrument Panel Control Module.

Important:  The module memory will not clear if the battery positive voltage circuit fuse is installed in less than 60 seconds.

  1. Wait 60 seconds.
  2. Install the fuse.

I DO NOT HAVE A SCAN TOOL. BUT I WILL RETRY THE CALIBRATION WITH ALL 3 FUSES REMOVED.. I WILL GET RIGHT BACK TO YOU..

I CALIBRATED IT WITH THE FUSES OUT BUT NO CHANGE SO I TRIED WITH THE BATTERY DISCONNECTED BUT NO CHANGE..

At this point you are left with making guesses or seeking a shop or mechanic in your area that has the correct scan tool to get into the system and see what is going on.

THANKS YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP..WITH SAME TEMP THROUGH OUT THE CAR ITS JUST LIKE THE OLD DAYS AND LESS THINGS FOR THE KIDS TO PLAY WITH..SO UNLESS IT GETS BACK TO HOT ON ONE SIDE AND COLD ON THE OTHER I THINK I WILL SAVE THE MONEY FOR NOW..THANKS AGAIN..PETE
