No heat, and air will not switch to defrost

When turning temperature knob to heat, no heat will be present only ambient temp. Also when switching to defrost air will only come out of center and side vents.
I took a look at the drivers side actuator and it does not turn when turning temp controls and air distribution controls, both inlet and outlet hose from heater core are hot.
I did notice that there is another actuator on the passenger side as well and it does not move either. I do not know which actuator controls what?
All lights are working on the climate control panel, and all blower speeds work as well as the air conditioning.

Only troubleshooting i have done is disconnected the battery for 5 min then reconnected with no change.

According to GM service information the recalibration can only be done with a scan tool.  I am attaching two wiring diagrams to show where the system fuses are.

Thank you very much for the response, i do have a Tech2, things have change for the better, the wife got in the Captiva today and everything worked fine, I checked everything tonight and sure enough, everything is working, but the question is for how long.

Now i wish i would of hooked up the Tech2 last night, but was going to wait until this weekend.

Thanks, one thing though is i found this site, looks interesting and helpful so i think ill stick around.

I hooked up the Tech2 and i could not find anything related to recalibrating the motors/actuators or Climate control related

I believe your vehicle may fall into the “Global A Platform” category and if so a Tech 2 will either not work at all or have limited functions. You would need a GM MDI or equivalent scan tool.
