Blend door problem

Did you perform the recalibration procedure?

No, could not find any information for my 2008 trailblazer with auto a/c heat controls on how to calibrate system. The 2006 model did not work on my auto.

The following is the procedure if an actuator is replaced. You can skip steps 2 & 3. The HVAC B fuse is located in the rear fuse box.

  1. Place the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Install the HVAC actuator.
  3. Connect all previously disconnected components.
  4. Remove the HVAC B fuse for a minimum of 30 seconds.
  5. Install the HVAC B fuse.
  6. Start the vehicle. Do Not Touch Anything. Hands in pockets.
  7. Wait 60 seconds for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate.
  8. Turn the ignition off for at least 10 seconds but no more than 30 seconds.
  9. Turn the ignition back on and check the system operation.

I would recommend trying the procedure a few times if it does not work initially. Assuming you do not have a scan tool and the procedure does not work you will have to try and visually identify which actuator is acting up. To do this you will need help. The system will need to be put into recalibration while you are under the dash watching and feeling the actuators to see which one is problematic. During the recalibration process when a faulty actuator is encountered by the system the recalibration process stops at the point the problem is encountered. This will seemingly cause the doors to be stuck.
