hard starting, 35psi ststic fuel pressure, 55psi running

Sparky

The initial fuel pressure could be low or okay depending on whether this is a Newer body style Silverado or the Classic body style. Also matters which engine (need RPO code) and if the truck has a Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM).

Are there any codes present?

When does the problem occur? Cold start, hot start?

6.0 engine, newer body style, no codes. starts the worst in the morning, starts tough the rest of the day

I had a code of p0430, and the engine rpo code is LY6

Sparky

The P0430 code is a converter code and may be more of a symptomatic code rather than the cause of the hard start. This may be a fairly complicated problem to diagnose. I would need to know a lot more about the vehicle history and detailed explanation of the issue to help.

Do you have a scan tool capable of reading engine data?

How familiar are you with repairing this kind of issue?

I don’t have a scan tool for engine data but i have someone that does, ill try to scan on Monday, as far as the history goes i bought this pickup 2 years ago with 200000 plus miles, its been a good starting pickup until recently.

i can repair what ever the problem this turns out to be

I was talking to my brother in law who runs a repair shop, he said to replace the battery, so i put a battery charger on the battery, turned the key and the fuel pressure went to 55psi and the pickup started right up. So i replaced the batterys(I run a snow plow so i have a dual battery set up). that was today, let see how it starts tomorrow. The old battery’s tested good enough for something older.
