Dash lights going off after turning headlights on

Hello,

Dash lights are going off after I turn headlights on, after I cleaned off the corrosion off the battery from the wires just to let you know this car has no dimmer switch, what could be the problem? Also the other lights (interior and exterior) were flickering before that happened and still are, that’s why I thought clearing off the corrosion from the battery would have fixed the problem

First check to make sure the exterior park/tail lights work correctly. The dash lights will not work if the park/tail lights are not working. The headlight switch must also be in the on or auto position.

Second there is a panel dimming switch. It is part of the tachometer. It is a small rotary knob. This information including visuals of the switch are in the owners manual on page 2-30.

Tail/Break lights seem to be working just fine, I don’t seem to know where that dimming switch is? Unfortunately I don’t have the car manual

After double checking I saw that the dimmer switch was actually on the speedometer as you mentioned, somehow after disconnecting the battery brightness was set to 0, thank you very much for the help

Glad to have helped.
