AC recirc button LED/bulb is lighting up, but no change in airflow or fan speed when depressed. I replaced fan resistor pack and harness plug a few years ago, so fan works on all speeds. Also replaced the door actuator too(hot pass side, cool driver side). All is working correctly.

Pulse board on wiper motor is out-nothing but high speed wiper working. New one in shipment. Doubt this recirc problem has any connection to that. If replacing control unit is the answer, what is the earliest model available that fits, if I have to go the used part route?

As long as the recirc led is not staying lit all of the time and will turn off then the recirc/fresh air door actuator has likely failed. There has also been a software calibration update that compensates for worn foam on the door surfaces that allow the actuator to over travel and become stuck.  I would start by using the appropriate scan tools to retrieve the current calibration file number then check in on the GM SPS site to see if there has been an update.
