Ac blower motor not working

ID Status Date Year Make Model Transmission Type A/C Controls Public/Private

I have read your post and they are very helpful but I have checked the blower the resistor and the wiring pigtail, also I have checked the fuses and I have power at the fuses and on the orange wire at the ignition starter switch. I have also put a ohm meter on the purple wire from the control module to the wiring pigtail for the resistor and it is good I am thinking my control module is bad any help is appreciated. Thanks

I am assuming your truck is a 2006 and not a 2996 year model? Also that you have auto controls?

Going with those assumptions you need to check for  constant power on the red wire at the blower speed controller(resistor). Check for constant ground on the black wire at the same connector. With the connector installed in the blower speed controller check for voltage on the small purple wire with your  other test lead connected to a good ground. Depending on the color of the blower speed controller you should find either 5 volts (black) or 12 volts(gray). If voltage is found on the small purple wire and all other wires test okay then the blower speed controller or the blower motor is faulty. We would need to do more testing to confirm which one from this point.

Ok I will do some testing and get back with you thanks for tour help

I have check them and I have good ground and 12 volts on the red but only .02 on the purple.

Did you see my last post

It would appear from your test results that the blower speed controller is faulty. We need to rule out an unwanted ground on the small purple wire that could be bringing the voltage down. . You can perform this test in one of two ways.

1. Remove the purple wire wire and terminal from the connector body and then perform the test again but you will need to deeply backprobe the empty cavity in order to contact the male terminal inside.

2. Cut the small purple wire in a position that is easily repaired. Test the end of the small purple wire that is still attached to the blower speed controller.

In either test of you have the same general low voltage the blower speed controller is faulty.
