I have a 2002 Yukon XL Denali. The climate control is stuck to blow out of the dash vents only and my temperature knob does not blend, it is all the way cold or all the way hot. I have changed both actuators and even the control unit in the dash and nothing changes. I do not have the fuse that I have read about to take out and recalibrate the system. Is there some other stupid procedure that I am not to resolve this issue?

On that vehicle you would need to remove and install the Radio fuse in the underhood fuse box to begin the recalibration procedure. Or you can disconnect the battery but doing so will sometimes cause erratic idle issues.

Do I go to the same recalibration procedure?

Sparky

The recalibration procedure is generally the same with he exception of the fuse used to initiate the process. Also instead of waiting one minute for the process to cycle through actuator movements you will need to wait between 3 and 4 minutes.

So pull the fuse turn the ignition on for 3 minutes, ignition off, put fuse back and start the car?

Sparky

No….

  1. Pull the fuse for one full minute.
  2. Reinstall the fuse.
  3. Turn the ignition on for 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Do Not Touch Anything during this time.
  5. Turn the ignition off for at least 10 seconds but no longer than 30 seconds.
  6. Turn the ignition on and check the system operation.
