I have been using your answer with pictures to remove. and replace a GEM module Call Me! my 97 F-150. I am at point of removing the Fuse Assy panel and the GEM. I have not tried pulling wire harness connectors from fuse panel. I have removed 2d screws from top of fuse panel support metal brace and 2 nuts off 2 studs at frame holding (?? fuse panel and GEM). Your comment at this point ” Remove wire harnesses from back of fuse box”. Two 10 mm headed bolts at center of each connector. “. I need some more clarification on these two statements. I am dead in the water at this point.

Sparky

The two large harnesses at the rear (firewall side) of the fuse box have attaching bolts with 10mm heads in the center of the harness housings. The screws have to be fully loosened then the harness connectors can be pulled from the back of the fuse box assembly. They are sometimes very difficult to detach from the rear of the assembly. It can take some pulling, prying, twisting, wiggling and praying. Throw in a tear or two a few drops of blood and it will be loose. After the harnesses are disconnected you have to move them out of the way and then the fuse box will free enough to maneuver out of the dash.
