On my 2015 Chevy Equinox the fan only blows out the foot position on a/c and heater

Fan only blows out on your feet .

Your vehicle is best diagnosed using an appropriate scan but assuming you do not have one, I I would try recalibrating the system to see if the actuator will reset. If not you will likely need to replace the mode actuator.

Alternate Method (without Scan Tool)

Note:  Do not operate any HVAC controls while the HVAC control module is calibrating as this may interrupt the process. If interrupted, improper HVAC performance will result.

  1. Ignition OFF/ Vehicle OFF.
  2. Remove the HVAC Battery fuse, 20 amp in the interior fuse box for a minimum of 10 seconds.
  3. Install the HVAC control module fuse.
  4. Start the vehicle.
  5. Wait at least 40 seconds for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate.
  6. Turn the ignition off for at least 10 seconds but no more that 30 seconds..
  7. Restart the engine and check HVAC operation.
