How do I reset my A/C mode blend door actuator ?

It just started recently. I don’t know how or what happened, but my A/C mode blend door actuator lost its calibration on my 2000 Cadillac Seville STS. Instead of blowing from the dash vents, it blows from the defrost vents at the windshield. Is there a way to reset it or re-teach it to where it will blow where it’s supposed to at whatever mode it’s set for ?

There is no recalibration procedure for a 2000 year model Seville. Most likely the actuator has failed and will need to be replaced. If by chance your vehicle is a 1999 model year I would suggest looking for a loose vacuum line under the hood. The 1999 year model used vacuum actuators and changed to full electric in model year 2000.

It is a 2000. It’s weird because it seems to have lost its orientation after a low battery voltage situation. I can have the mode set on dash vents and when I start the car, it will blow through the vents for about 10 seconds then it switches to defrost by itself. However, when I try to manually switch modes, there’s no change. So I’m thinking the actuator works long enough to switch modes by itself, but not afterwards. That’s why I was asking if there was a reset procedure for the actuator orientation. This is my first Cadillac and I had no idea that virtually Everything is controlled by the computer !!!

Thanks again.
I hope you had a Merry Christmas and you have a very Happy New Year !!!
