#15907 Closed 2007 Chevrolet Uplander LS public

Good Morning and a Happy New Years to You.
We have a 2007 Chevy Uplander LS 3900 non Flex fuel.
It has manual heat and A/C controls. It has a brand new radiator, temperature sensor, and new thermostat, but we are not getting heat inside, when turning the temperature knob from cold to hot you can hear a humming type noise but no heat, is there a actuator recalibration procedure you mite be able to share with me… I did look up under the dash and I see three of them in somewhat of a row from Eachother. Not sure which one is which…. My thumb is getting tied of holding a bic lighter to create some heat while my wife drives the van…lol

Thanks and Be Safe !!!

Below you will find the recalibration procedure. I would recommend checking the coolant system for proper volume and flow as that is the most common cause of lack of heat on these vehicles.

Alternate Method (w/o Scan Tool)

  1. Clear all DTCs. GM service information does not explain how to clear the DTC’s without a scan tool. You would have two choices if you do not have a scan tool. Disconnect the battery to clear all learned memory from the vehicle. Keep in mind that you could wind up with other issues including engine stalling if you do this. The other would be to remove the  CLSTR/HVAC fuse #8 in the interior fuse box for one full minute and then reinstall to clear the memory from the HVAC module. Since serial data lines are also connected to the HVAC module you may have to do some odd things to fully clear the DTC’s. Prep the door locks to make the computers think the doors are closed and let the vehicle sit for about 15 minutes before removing and reinstalling the listed fuse.
  2. Place the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  3. Connect all previously disconnected components.
  4. With the Mode knob in the PANEL position, press and hold the AC button for 5 seconds.
  5. Rotate the Mode knob fully counterclockwise.
  6. Rotate the Mode knob fully clockwise.
  7. Rotate the Mode knob fully counterclockwise.
  8. Release the AC button.
  9. Wait 40 seconds for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate.
  10. Start the vehicle.
  11. Verify that no DTCs have set as current DTCs.
